I bought a aftermarket quick detach sissbar and luggage rack for my 2010 street glide. 1st one I've ever had. 1st off, it fits really snug on front where it mounts on shock studs. To the point where 2 hand pulling as hard as u can to get it off, and rocking back and forth to get it on. Then in the back, 2 thumbs as hard as u can push to get cams rotated around quick disconnect ( they rotate freely when not on bike). Are they all this tight a fit? 2nd ? Is are the cams suppose to be on the inside or outside? Not sure if mount brackets are tweeked with cams on inside( I have to pull out on bracket a little to get can to line up correct with bushing on 4pt). I believe if they were on outside at least I could use my hole hand to try to rotate cams. Thanks for any in site on this
The detachable sissy bars do fit quite snug. As time goes on you will know right where to apply pressure on the latches to help it go on and off a little easier. To answer your second question the cams are supposed to be on the inside of the sissy bar so yours are on correct.

Mine were real tough to get on the first time (H-D parts) but have gotten easier each removal/replacement. Still snug, but better. That first time was a bear, though...
I've had mine since April 2010 and they are just as tight now as they were the first day. The way I look at it though is because it is so snug there is no rattle from the vibration. If it were looser there could be rattling.
But yes, it's normal for it to be a tight fit. And the cams are supposed to be on the inside of the sissy bar and outside of the luggage rack and tourpaks.
Thanks for the replies.by the time I take my seat off so I can rotate the sissy far enough to put on or take off, and get cams turned, I think I could have pulled 4 bolts and been done with it with a regular mount. Lol
I just got the stock HD sissy bar and 4 point hook up.
We had to tweek the sissy bar by spreading it out some.
And yes they are snug, and the cams take some strong fingers.
Took stock seat off and put reduced reach seat on it. Pillion portion of seat is much larger.to pop the cams and rotate back rest up to clear docking I'm crushing pillion. And to hands rocking and pulling as hard as I can to get backrest off I'm gonna rip the seat.I'm a big guy and it isn't a strength issue.I'm flexing the stud for the shock twisting and pulling on this to get it off and on. The cams I broke the aluminum tabs off the spring loaded pins for locking it. That's how hard I'm pushing on it. Got grooves on grommets on docking kit just installing 1 time. I push the pin up until it is past half way and then crank on it as hard as your gunna with 2 thumbs. I know u want it snug, but I don't think it should be were u break a sweat like bench pressing 300lbs 5 times. Lol
