Today I changed the oil on my 2005 Road glide myself for the first time, I accidentally pulled the Crankcase plug (Not paying attention while trying to explain to my wife what I was doing.). Now my question is......... How do I fill the crankcase oil? I know this is a Newbie question an that fine because I am. Yes I did buy the service manual but it doesn't address refilling the crankcase oil. I'm ready for all the Newbie and I should know this Jokes, so bring it on.
That aside, just fill the oil tank (to the appropriate level) the rest will take care of itself.
What you drained was the crankcase sump (where the scavenge pump draws oil from) about 4-6oz of oil accumulates there when the engine is shut off. No need to refill it.

Oh....and don't forget to take your head outta your ***.

This is a dry sump engine, unlike probably everything else you've changed the oil on. The oil lives over in that tank, it doesn't hang out in the bottom of the engine. The oil pump not only pumps oil around inside the engine, but also sucks the oil out of the bottom of the engine, sending it back to the tank.
So, there is no filling of the engine itself with oil. Only the tank.
What you drained was the wee bit of oil that drains backwards from the pump when the engine is turned off.
