Default Sputtering

I have a 2010 Road Glide that I recently purchased about 2 months ago. First off I'll name the mods it has. Woods cams, heavy breather, D&D fat cat 2 into 1 exhaust with performance baffle, and a race tuner that was dynoed and tuned in Dallas. I noticed yesterday after my ride home from work, which is about 45 minutes, that once I got into town and got to a stop light and took off in first I was getting a lot of sputtering until I revved it up to about 3000 rpm's. The bike did this to me at every light until I got home. Normal riding while I'm already moving I don't have the problem. Its only during 1st gear take off. I also noticed when I got home I had a little oil back splash on the front of my right saddle bag. I noticed a little oil when I rubbed my finger underneath the breather elbow. Anyone have any suggestions what it could be? I'm really trying to avoid having to take it to the dealer as it is not under warranty anymore. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the very informative response. I wouldn't know what to do with myself if you hadn't clarified that for me.

In all seriousness, has anyone had the same issue before?

Did you change the oil recently? May have over filled and sucking back into breather. Not familiar with EFI bikes. But your filter sounds oil logged.

I haven't changed any fluids or done any maintenance since I got the bike about 6 weeks ago. I haven't dogged the throttle or ridden the crap out of it either. I've only put about 600 miles on it since I got it and about 90% of those miles are between 70-85 mph on the highway. Hope that helps.

These bikes don't like to be FULL of oil like other vehicles. Check you oil level correctly and go from there.

The oil mist might be totally unrelated but you should be able to fix that.

sounds like the same IAC problem thats in a million threads. take off your air intake, open throttle body blade and spray cleaner in there. particulary the IAC located behind the blade.

My 2010 Ultra started acting the exact same way last year. Had a dealership check it out, no luck, they said it was normal, took it back again because it was getting dangerouse, they replaced the pins to the throttle body plug with upgraded ones. The bike still acted up, mostly after it warmed up. To this point there was never a check engine light or code. Finally one morning the ck engine light flashed. The code pointed me to a shorted or open engine temp. sensor or circuit. I gently pulled the boot back from top of the sensor and there it was! One of the wires to the ET sensor was hanging on by a couple copper strands. This sensor has never been touched to this point on my bike. The wire was broke under the protective boot. I could find no apparent reason for it being broke there. I cut it and replaced the pin on that wire. No more problems. I hope this helps ya, something to look at anyhow. I know the frustration your going through on this for sure!
