I own the Gerbing vest and my wife owns the jacket. She definitely feels the heat more than I do... the sleeves on the jacket keep her exponentially warmer.

As you know, Gerbing makes the HD vest and jacket.

If you're interested in a dual controller let me know. I have two and might be willing to part with one. Both are brand new and have only been used twice. The Gerbing was $99 and the HD was $110. They are the same exact unit.

Get the jacket for her. You need a controller to regulate the heat. Several ways to go; buy direct from Gerbings, a local Gerbings dealer in your area or eBay. Personally, I would buy direct from Gerbings or a local dealer and avoid any issues with sellers on eBay. You might pay a bit more at Gerbings web site or with a local dealer but in the long run you won't have any issues should there be any defects or warranty issue. Sometimes when we save a buck from a unknown seller the hassle if something is wrong isn't worth the grief. I have Gerbings gear and love it and she will too. Cold weather is not a problem anymore. Illinois has a couple a Gerbings dealers...their web site has the locations. Good luck.

Get the jacket liner and controller for extended use. If just the occasional cooler the normal ride you might look into the Gerbings battery operated vest. My wife does not travel with me but does ride on short 100 mile or less runs mainly fair weather. On occasion we get the unexpected cool snaps. I bought her the battery operated vest for just those occasions and she loves it. They state it is not meant for motorcycle use but my wife swears by it. It will heat to 130 degrees for two hours on high, 110 for 4 hours and I think 100 for six hours. It has a battery/controller built in.

Gerbing jacket liner, gloves, and dual controller here.

What's the wind chill factor @ 75 mph when it's 26*? Dunno/don't care... I'm toasty warm. My nose does get a little cold though...

Spendy ($500,) but worth every penny.

I've got an old widder heated vest that has served me well for many years.

But, the technology is very old school, and there is far better today. Take a look at something like Powerlet RapidFire and such. This is IR heating, and it is far and away superior.

Default +1 Gerbing jacket and controller.

Controller is a must with Gerbing. You'll bake on any settings over 2 unless it's REALLY cold. The jacket lets me ride year round in Atlanta area. And yeah, it does get cold in the ATL in Feb.

My OL has the long sleeved Gerbings jacket liner with the temp control. She especially likes the heated collar. It would be worth my life to try to take it away from her.

Wife and I have WarmNSafe - We both have the Jacket and Gloves and the Dual Remote controller. I've had mine on once or twice, no complaints. Wife has hers on anytime the temperature is less than 60 and loves it.

There was a Sticky on the AdvRider.com site about a "promo" discount on WarmNSafe. I googled for it, and this may be it. I just tried again, and it looks the promo code Rose gave me is worth about 12% off.

FYI
