Great pics, I did th window removal of the cat. Had I seen these pics before hand, I would have drilled mine out. OH well, its done and I'm glad.
Now for the Xieds, I tried them without much difference noticed. Have sence installed cam's. I was talking with my indy the other day and he told me for best results with Xieds. Bite the bullet and have the stage 1 down load from the dealer, then install the Xieds. Some of his customers have noticed a world of difference by doing it in conjuction with the download. OH, forgot to mention, also do the stage 1 air cleaner. With all this, its still cheaper than cams, dyno, and tuner.
I think you could have gotten the rest of it with a long chisel (screwdriver) and a beater.
You guy's know that metal is a small fortune at the scrapyard or a few beers anyways. Thieves in Detroit will steal your Cat right from under your car, They use a sawzall and are gone with it in a matter of minutes, they mostly hit Yukons and trucks where they can slide under the vehicle without jacking it up.

Not possible, although it looks like it from the photo.
That bit of material is not on a straight shot from the end of the exhaust pipe, it's on the cat side that is opposite the exhaust pipe, so there is an angle there. That's why the drill bit couldnt get it.
The reason your seeing what your seeing is that I took the camera and stuck it in the short pipe where the cross-over connects and angled it down into the cat to see the material. A screwdriver or chisel would have to follow the same angle as the drill bit in photo #1, so same issue; no contact.
Me thinks that drilling a TriGlide head pipe is going to be very difficult due to the dogleg at the end of the pipe. Even with a flex extension I would not be confident that all of the cat was out.
Cutting a window and taking it out is just not a big deal, and you are assured that there is nothing left in there.
On edit: Oops! I thought I was in the TriGlide section, and not Touring.

How long did the drilling process take (excluding pipe removal and re-install)? Was it very hard or does the cat material chew up pretty quick with the bit? I am thinking about decatting my 2014 this way, and it would be worth wasting a drill bit.
