Audio Upgrade - Biketronics
First off, a shout out to Biketronics, absolutely fantastic customer service. Donna and Mike went out of their way to not only educate me, but to provide multiple options at a very respectable price. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for great service and to be treated with respect.
As I am not up on all the new electronic gadgets, I can barely spell IPOD, I decided to keep, for now, the stock HK radio, 100+ songs on a CD works for me. I was looking for a reasonably priced filled in, front and back, sound system that I could clearly hear. This is what I decided on;
BT4180 180W X 4 channel amp
7.1" Titan II front speakers (not on their site yet)
BT474 6.5" Titan II rear speaker pod kit
I had one dilemma during the learning/decision process. The rear speaker pod kit does not accommodate the rear control cutouts, I was looking to keep all the stock controls for the passenger. Mike understood my dilemma and took the concern onboard. He is going to investigate constructing the rear pod kit with the ability to maintain rear passenger controls.
I was very impressed by his next move. Vice worrying about making a buck at my expense, he recommended I purchase the BT2180 180W X 2 channel with the 7.1" Titan II front speakers thinking I would be extremely satisfied with the upgraded fronts and stock rears filling the sound. Upon completion of his development of the rear speaker pod kit with rear controls, he would take care of me, exchanging the 2 for a 4 channel amp for the cost difference no matter the timeframe, or, if I decided to buy the kit now, he would swap with the new rear pod. This sold me on his product, certainly an owner looking out for his customers.
Since I already decided to make the investment and not wanting to do things twice, I decided to upgrade the rears now. If the rear pods with rear controls do not come to fruition, more power to me not having the wife able take control.
I am now waiting patiently for the Big Brown Truck. More to follow after install.
Congratulations on your upcoming retirement. I served 23 years in the submarine service; great time, great friends, and great memories. You will find the monthly retirement checks helps out a little with the bike habit.
