i have the 07 FLHTC . the salesman tells me not to wait for bike to warm up -says long warm ups actually hurt engine. my metric i let warm up till it kicks itself off hi idle. what should i do here? 2? 3? minutes on the glide?
also any recc on what to take swirls outta the blk finish? thanks
I don't warm mine up other than just easing it along until the rockerbox is warm to the touch. I do not start it and let it idle. I start it up and go. My bike has a good amount of miles. No warm ups hasn't hurt it, yet.

Warm up is a good thing....30 secs or so. As for the swirl marks in black, get a fine cut 3M polishing compound and rubs in one direction. Buff. Wax. Buff again. Circular motions on black are the culprit. Use one of those microfiber cloths and NEVER, EVER touch your paint with a paper towel.
for really fine swirls in the paint, i have used meguirs scratch-x and then gone over it with a fresh coat of carnauba wax. also, make sure that when applying and buffing the wax, don't go in swirls, go in a front to back linear motion (kinda like how the wind would go over your metal)
if that doesn't work, paint your tins white. lighter colors are harder to see the swirls in
