Default SE compensator

Has anyone tried one of these? I am having a leak issue with my primary and was planning on fixing it this weekend and throwing the SE compensator in. I have read that they hold up to the torque of higher performance/ big bore motors better then stock. Just wondering if anyone has had any issues.

I just went round and round with the MOCO about mine. I've got an '11 SG with the 103" motor, which has the SE compensator. Only 1455 miles. I get a distinct clunk from the primary when I disengage the clutch after just inching along in traffic. The dealer said it was the compensator unloading, but it was normal. Talked to the factory and they said the same thing. We know that's bull, but that's what I got. Bottom line is a company called Dark Horse Crankworks is due out very soon with an aftermarket compensator and I'm waiting for that. I have two friends with '12's that have had compensators replaced, one at 3K, the other at 4.5K. I would save the $250+ bucks for the SE and wait. It's a flawed part.

Jim, how long have you had the compensator in your bike? What were your noted improvements?

It's been about 30k miles. The big deal was the bang at start up, but the whole bike is smoother. It just feels tighter or newer I'm not sure what else to say.

OEM compensator is dis continued. SE comp is the direct replacement. Only aftermarket one that im aware of is the one Darkhorse is working on. No release date yet.

My 07 SG stock comp knocked from the time it was new., I put in the SE Comp 10k miles ago... less knocking but its still there. Ive pulled it out to reposition the parts, no change. I can hear it at idle....

Not money well spent in my case.

I exchanged emails with John at Dark Horse earlier this week. He says they are in the final stages of testing and should be in production and on the market very soon. I'm going to have to put up with the knock until theirs comes out.
