saddlebag support brackets...
I just ordered a pair of saddlebag support brackets that will delete the chrome guard without having to replace the entire rail assembly. Has anyone had experience with these? fitment issues etc.... the description says it fits 93 to 2013 touring models.

Very interesting. I'm surprised on the fitment list because of the frame changes in 09 up bikes. Doss was selling a similar product but cut off the fitment at 08 because of this issue. Please advise the readers if these actually do fit all year bikes as promoted. I just bought a set of FLHX style bag supports from Drag rather than the add ons.

Brackets just got here but i have to go buy a larger torx bit to remove the top and bottom guard rail screw. Any idea what size these are? i know they are bigger than 40 but my manual does not list the torx size.

torx 45. fit like a glove! the hardest part was breaking the torque on the frame support screws. I got these from ChoppersCycle. i can confirm that these do fit the new frames and in my case the 2012 flhtcu.
