I have a 05 FLHTPI. Had a minor accident last night, bent the bars slightly. Two questions, would it make sense to try and straighten out the bars? Should there be any concern that structurally they won't be sound? It appears that the right hand side is lower by about an inch or so
Or I have a friend with a stock set of bars off of a Road King same year. What is the difference between the two? As I look at the schematic for my bike they show 3 different kinds, why were there 3?, and how do I figure out which one I have?
whatever you do, you have to disassemble, so get in there are see what the fault is....
X1
You HAVE to take it apart. If the handlebar is bent, I would replace it. The metal has been stressed at the bend and will only be a matter of time before they fail.
