Chrome Carb Cover

I have a carberated '06 EG. I want to install the chrome cover to replace the black cover. Do you have to remove the tank to get to the carb, or is it easier to remove the carb?

Not sure of the 06', but on my 03' the carb just pulls off after the ac is removed.
