Looking for some help/input. Are there any common problems or maintenance issues with the 2005 Road King?
I sold my FXDL a few years back and bought a 2005 Road King Custom with 4k on the clock. I rode the bike about 3500mi and then life took me in a different direction and the bike has been parked for a few years. It has been started occasionally and moved around the garage.
Life has settled down and I can start riding again, so I am looking for input on any maintenance issues I should address with the bike. I have this bike like I want it and I don't really have plans to sell it so I would like to be proactive and address any weak spots.
Change the oil and filter and air up the tires. I would check both tires for any signs of cracking or splitting, replace if necessary. Maybe replace both spark plugs.
Ride it around the block a whole bunch of times to make sure the brakes are operating fine and not hanging up and that the trans is shifting smoothly.

Legal disclaimer: This is just my opinion.
Cubalz - Thanks for the reply, but I am actually trying to see if there are any specific issues with this bike/motor that I should address. I was not really talking about basic maintenance after removing the bike from storage. All good info though.
Worry about it at 25K. At the rate it's clocking miles, it will be years before you really need to do anything other then maintenance. Even that I would only do once a years.

There was a valve seal recall on the '05 and you can check if your bike has been fixed or not. Otherwise, the only common issue are the cam chain tensioners which most don't encounter, but enough do for cause for concern.

Is there an aftermarket replacement for the cam chain tensioners or a revised HD Part?
