istartedthe bike up went down the bloack and noticed i had no turn signals. Then after getting out of the sun i noticed the red key light was on, so i turned around and went back home. Turned bike off, now i have no tail light, no turn signals and it wont start. Fuel pump kicks on headlights are bright and radio works. Wont throw a code because the rpm and speedo wont light up now? Cleaned battery cables and checked the ground all good. I did the yaffe 16 swap 2 weeks ago and been riding daily since and i did it right. All wires twisted soldered and heat shrank. Any idea what i should look for before loading it up and taking it to the dealer? Gotta run out now but will look for advice when im home in a couple hours!
Sorry to hear about the issues. Maybe two weeks was what it took to shake something loose or wear the insulation from a wire to ground. Start wiggling wiring harnesses to see where it is.
Ok i got it all tore down and checked all my connections, all seems good. I did fnd 3 blown fuses. i first replaced fuses with it all together ad they all popped the 3. Now its all apart they are good bike starts horn works but the dash shows left turn signal light arrow on but frontturn signal doesnt work. Neither does the rear on that side. When i first got bike apart the front turn signal bulb stayed lit CRAZY bright now it doesnt work at all isthat why the rear and that side isnt working? Everything else seems to be working now. Could it have been a screwy bulb?
Bulb shouldn't blow a fuse and definitely not 3 different circuits. You must have a pinched wire somewhere or a hot going to ground. Also need to look behind the fuse panel for loose pins.
Wires in back fender area by tire first. Unplug fender see if fuses blow. Then start unplugging systems till fuses dont pop. After that its plug in components one by one and check
