Putting new speakers in the SG, inner and lower fairing speakers with an amp. Local shop uses HERTZ speakers, anybody use these? Not looking to spend a million or modify mounting, any recommendations on kits/systems?

yes, they are good, maybe not as good as the Polk MM651's for the money as others have stated

I have the Focal K2 and love them

you have to do an AMP - no matter what speakers you have to do an amp

even a bridged 2 channel as many of us have will do the trick

I just installed a set of Polks. No Amp... Big improvement. By adding an Amp yours should really boom!

Do some research in the audio section. Lots of info there.

I did a lot of reading in the audio section and I was very pleased and learned so much. I have a 11 SG, and I went with the Rockford Amp and Polk Audio 6.5 with the Dragonfly Adapter's. Also required to buy a amp install kit. Did all the work myself and was fairly easy. There was even a video on Youtube on how to install the Rockford Amp and proper settings. I could not be happier with my low cost investment. It all cost me about 200 and some change.

When stock I was not happy with the clarity at rolling speeds, now I can go 80 mph or faster and hear my tunes clearly. I do have some hearing loss from all the exotic places the Marine Corps sent me so I really needed this. I have had a lot of compliments running down the road and people in cages even turn their heads.

Good luck of whatever you chose.

To answer your actual question ------- !!!!!! You'll be happy with the Biketronics Hertz/Titan upgrade. I had the 6.5" upgrade for awhile, and it was a HUGE improvement over so-called "upgrades" like Hogtunes. I thought I read on here where they have a 7" upgrade now. I bet it's a good one too. Also, if you "blow" one, Biketronics will replace it free. I did, and they replaced them both. They're great to work with. Go for it. Best upgrade for the money, in my opinion, but you should have an amp for even better results. (Buy the speakers from Biketronics, to get the "blow-up" warranty. I don't think you'll be able to find them too many other places anyway.)

I had the Hertz. Blew one within a day and returned them for a set of Focals and never looked back. The hertz sounded good for the one day they worked.

I have the Polk mm6501 in my fairing with the ss nano 4.520d amp and it ran me 202.00 for speakers from amazon and 132.50 for the amp and about 3 hours to install ( I also did Sony head unit). You won't be sorry with this set up either but have also heard good things about what your talking about.
