05 FLHTPI.....Driving home tonight, watching the volt gauge go up and down...lights dim, bike hesitates, radio cuts in and out.....then fine, then not

Any Ideas?......Battery is less than a month old

Voltage regulator or stator. Start with the regulator.

check all connections! I had a loose battery terminal that welded itself into the loosened position--now when I check, I loosen first, then tighten

I check and rechecked all my grounds. I picked up a Regulator, keeping my fingers srossed that this afternoon's ride is uneventful

Since you mention you recently changed your battery, check both battery terminals. I know, you installed it right - but you might just be surprised. I changed an alternator on a Suburban once in the middle of nowhere Alaska only to find out when the job was done that by ground terminal wasn't as tight as it should be. It's easy to think everything's tightened down and for it to look right but slightly loose is a problem.
