2012 FLHTK lower Fairing storage compartments

Thumbs down 2012 FLHTK lower Fairing storage compartments
Anyone know how to remove the storage compartments on the 2012 TK's? It appears easy but there could be a special tool. I broke my neck a few years ago and my cervical spine is fused so I cannot bend my neck and turn it to look up into these small units. HD says they will charge me $100 to remove them. What a surprise. Any help is appreciated.

Couple of screws at the top and a clamp on the bottom, they come right off. Go to Utube and do a search, it will have a video of it so you can see. Oh yeah, welcome to the forums...

Are you trying to take the whole lower fairing off, or just the glove boxes on top?

Then buy a quick disconnect kit. Got mine on eBay.
