Batwing issue
I removed the batwing on my 2013 Street Glide recently to install new Boom audio speakers. I searched for advice on here that was helpful before I did it. My issue is the top right area above the right mirror doesn't seal like the other side. I've taken it back off 3 times to try to fit it better, but nothing works. If you pull up on the fairing below the mirror you can make it gap pretty easily. BTW I did ruin one of the top brass inserts that pulled out from over tightening, tryin to fix this issue. I replaced it with a new one from Harley, but that's a whole different story. I'm a little worried cause I'm taking a week long trip from Florida to PA via the Blueridge Parkway and Skyline next month. I've done the trip before with my old bike twice and know I'm getting rained on. Also that's the side that sticks up with the forks locked. And I'm sure to have an all night thunderstorm while the bike sits outside for over a week at some point. Does it even matter if water gets in there or what needs to be done?
Take the fairing back off, and double check all the wiring harnesses. Sounds like maybe a harness is still in the way.
I can't really tell you why it isn't sealing but this tells what can happen if water gets inside, at least with a Sony Auto head unit-

I had previosly installed J&M 7 1/4 speakers and the included dynamat foam lining for the fairing. I now have the Titan II 6 1/2 with much larger magnets that were pushing on the dynamat foam and not allowing the batwing to completely seal. After my wet experience I cut out the foam where the magnets were touching and the batwing now seals much better.

Double check for harnesses in the way like GP said. You can get the fairing screws plenty tight by hand, never crank on them with a ratchet! You may want to start them all before tightening any and tighten evenly by hand. You don't want a bunch of water getting in there!

Carry a big contractor sized trash bag with you and you can slip that over the entire faring at night. Keeps all water away from the radio and gauges. Who cares how it looks. Even when apparently sealed, these farings are NOT and NEVER will be water proof. So many ways for the water to get in. Then you have the pressure washing guys that think a bike is a damn submarine. Hope you find your fitment issue.
1) it has to be a wiring harness binding up.
They are huge and there are a lot of them, just move them all around.
2) start all 7 screws/bolts before you tighten any of them.
You don't need to have the windshield in, you can leave the top three loose and tighten the other four bolts. Then put the windshield in.

Been there, it was a PITA. It is the wiring harnesses. You have to get them back almost exactly where they were to start with. Way back an as low as possible. It took me 4 tries on a 2011 Limited.
I used jbweld for brass inserts and has worked pretty good I change windshields weekly stereo is different story I installed hog tunes amp and speakers It sounds ok but I am switching to j&m as soon as I can
