Was messing with my GPS and left key on assy for a couple of days. Totally drained battery. It is only a year old. I pulled it out of the bike and have it on the charger. Anyone ever totally drain their battery and still have it survive? I hate it when I do stupid stuff that costs money.
It may work for a while, but a totally drained battery is pretty much junk. Its life is significantly reduced. If you are planning any long trips, change out the battery before you leave.
I'm not so sure. I totally drained mine and then recharged it. It hasn't given me any problems since and seems to have just as much power as before. It took a long time to recharge with my 6 amp unit but it's been fine. The OP ought to attempt charging before giving up on it.
huhh I wonder if starting and shutting off an engine while at a dealership repeatedly ends up shortening a batteries life....mine started acting funky 1 1/2 yrs after new, would stop cranking mid compression stroke then turn over. Got worse and worse ended up replacing and hasn't happened since. Been plugged into a tender since I drove it home..has to be the reason, most of my bike batteries last at least 5 years?
