Shoulda sat on it... and made "Vrooom Vrooom!" sounds... owner woulda showed then.
you know, I found a guy sitting his kid on my bike once.
it was NOT cool.
the kid was screaming because Dad let him dangle his bare legs on my hot pipes.
the Guy said he was going to sue me for the injury to his kid.
I let him know in a low voice to walk away before I whipped his *** in front of his kids.
"polish the chrome..." most of the brightwork on the old machines was stainless steel.
Not much chrome on them- chrome was considered "cheap"...same with my old Cadillacs, all the body trim is stainless, only the bumpers were chrome on steel
Hmmm... those old ones are not as easy to ride as the modern ones are. I had a couple of Shovel/Pan junk yard dogs I put together back the the 70s.... Bendix carbs, kick start, foot clutch, drum brakes, tank shifter & oil leaks.
Beautiful ride, it aint fast its cool and no one can top cool.
FYI: If your ever in Germany there's an old guy who has probably the biggest collection of old bikes in Germany. His place is a "museum" but the place is packed to overflowing with all kinds of neat old bikes, cars etc, I spent about 4 hours roaming through this place, the owner was really nice, knew enough English to get by and gave us a viewing of an old W.C Fields movie.
My Uncle has a knucklehead very similiar to that one but not quite in that good shape - he won't sell her (I have tried to buy) he starts her up & rides around his neighborhood once every year or so - no INS & the calif plates that were on it when he bought it back in the early 1960s - man I think knucks were the prettiest motors hd ever made
