Engine Temp
Last weekend I was returning from a trip to Milwaukee and I thought I would try to compare engine temperature with the lower fairing vents open and 15. I had stopped to eat and I rode for about 10 to 15 miles with the vents closed and kept watching the Power Vision to see what the engine temperature was. The ET got up to 241 degrees and seem to stabilize there, so I opened the vents and watched it for the next 15 to 20 miles. The ET actually went down to 237, but depending on a lot of factors like hills, shadows and pockets of cool air in low spots, the temperature varied between 237 and 241.
Basically, there was an insignificant difference in ET in my little experiment. I would like to hear from others that must have experimented with ET and lower fairing vent position.
I would also like to hear from any that have used a PV to compare the affect of lowers verses no lowers on ET.
