Motor Lessons suggests heel on the floorboard and toes or foot on the brake lever for a fast stop, but my ankle can't do that and I am usually lifting my foot to use the rear brake. I'm wondering if an inch lower is going to be enough.

Don't buy the Kuryakyn one because it sits lower than stock and you won't get your boot under the brake pedal. Total waste.
I have the ez brake. Find it alot better than stock, with room under for my boot. Think i got it from eglide goodies. I feel it gives me a quicker reaction time, and looks good to boot....

EZ Brake is no more. They went out of business a few years ago. I have one and unless I'm barefoot, there's no way my boot is going between the floorboard and the brake pedal....That's the whole idea of having the pedal just a few inches above the board for easy application without lifting your foot up. BUT, since I have 1" extended boards and the HD profile boards (moved forward 1"), maybe that's why I cannot slide my foot under the brake pedal.
