push rods
If the heads have been shaved down dont you have to have adj pushrods? Also when changing cams or lifters, adjustables you dont have to pull the rockers & boxes & gaskets. Also adj can adjust out valve train noise or fine tune lifters. Pros and cons I guess. Depends who's story your buying into.

These are the kinds of perceptions launched when people read posts about cracking the jam nuts on the older SE tapered pushrods. I can't say that I blame them for their concern, but to stereotype all adjustable pushrods as garbage and as devices that cannot be trusted is simply going down the wrong path.
There is no way in hell I would want my adjustment flexibility to be totally eliminated by the use of stock push rods, not to mention all the unnecessary work and time required to re-use them.
Then when your HD lifters go bad, guess what you have to do....all over again?? Then if your brand new lifters are making noise and you need to pre-load them a little deeper, guess what, you are **** out of luck with your stock pushrods!
It's my opinion that you should re-think your logic. Some guys think using SE cams and using stock pushrods preserve the warranty. That is hogwash. It's totally at the dealer's discretion. And if you are on extended warranty, well you had better read what it has to say about engine modifications.
If you are going to mod your engine, then you have to be prepared to handle what comes after ....whether it's good or bad or your screw-up or something else...and not let some shaky warranty steer the performance boat.
For the bottom end, use the right cam with the right lifters with the right set of quality push rods and don't look back. All this based on your riding style and bike.
