Black is pretty standard for frame color, for good reasons, however painted frames even from the MoCo stand out. I also think what type of paint style you have in mind with those two colors might tend to dictate the frame color. Depends on several factors, but i say paint it blue if it works in the overall project scheme, and make that extra effort to stand out from all the black frames. In this case : your opinion is the only one that matters , not anyone on the forum.

If I go with the candy paint on the frame...the entire thing has to be smoothed or molded...it will be slick as a babies azz with no welds showing

Not really...I am building this bike to win trophies in bike shows....so my option doesn't matter as much...paint almost always wins the show...you rarely see a black bike win a bike show.

I use to build custom bikes and did a blue bike with a matching blue frame. If you are never going to change the bike’s color I’d go with a blue frame. The combination looks great.

If you might change the color, think about it.

Custom moulded frame...show bike...let your artistic vision shine through. Attention to detail is what wins shows. I would definitely use color to my advantage in that case, even if the bike becomes "dated" in time. Some "dated" customs have become timeless beauties.
Main point is to have fun with it!

I say make it match your paint scheme. have it blue and black.

Blue where it meshes with blue paint on the bike and black where it meshes with black parts on the bike.

If the colors dont interlace in any point then go blue powder. It will be truly custom then and not the same boring black frame. At least people will see you put the extra effort of disassembling and going the extra mile even if the blue frame is not completely exposed.

Good luck.

Please PM a pic when you get it done.

This is a simple one, especially in light of the extra info you gave us about redoing it in 5 years. BLUE! Be that one in a million bike. Why not, now that you've got it down to the bones?
