Before I painted mine I used maguires gloss. That really shined it up and gave it that wet look

Was there any extra prep work involved before you painted? I'm always concerned that these products will permeate the plastic and give you fits with the paint sticking right...

just have to make sure it is prepped well, any good paint shop should prep it correctly and have not problems. i bought another inner fairing off ebay for 30 bucks so i just used it and then sold mine to a friend and he had it painted and no problems

Aerospace 303 protectant as is what I use, it protects against uv damage on all kinds of surfaces and doesn't leave a greasy film .

Haven't needed to use it on my bike yet, but I've used it for years to keep the soft top and plastic wheel flares on the Jeep looking like new. Soft top gets a coat just before I take it off for the winter, flares get treated when the soft top does, and when I put the soft top back on (that way they match the top again).

Yes you need to sand the inner fairing smooth for prep before paint. If you don't you could get orange peel look. It's takes a little work
