Truth. After break-in, they really start to shine.

Nothing will improve the way your bike rides more than suspension upgrades. Every one of Howard's customers has discovered this first hand. If you buy your bike to impress your friends then spend your money on chrome. If you intend to ride it like it was meant to be ridden then suspension upgrades should come before any other mods. Including engine work.

Ain't that the truth brother! Have friends who are all about chrome. I certainly have spent my share on chrome as well but when it comes down to it, chrome is just for show. If bike rides like chit, chrome don't help. Engine mods a close second to suspension :-)

Are you guys having these shocks built for solo riding and then adjusting spring tension for two up?

How do they work solo vs two up?

What do these shocks cost?

you should go to the motorcycle metal website and read for yourself. the main question they ask is do you ride 30/70 solo or 70/30 2up which decides the shock spring

Almost 300 miles this weekend. Lots of messing with them to see any differences. They are indeed worth it. I was able to open the sweep valve enough to match the soft mushy front fork and it felt like a firm marshmallow. I was also able to close the sweep valve enough to make the front fork have to do all the work. Definitely need some front fork work to really make these things shine for the solo "get some" days. I definitely noticed myself going faster over my usual cruising routes. So far I am extremely happy with the purchase and Howard was more than helpful every step of the way. I do believe the avg rider will be totally happy putting these (JRI-B) on without any other suspension mods and be very satisfied with their investment. It was amazing how far out the rear swing-arm was when measured for vertical fitment of the shocks.....no reason to have low expectations for ride quality on our bikes.

Yup, they really point out how bad the front forks are. I really need to get myself some Intiminators.

I am trying to finish up my 1986 ~ 2013 top tree now. This would allow 49mm fork tubes to be put into my trees and onto your bike. I have known '05Train for a while and is not shy about telling the truth. Someone is going to get a change for a 100% truthful review (not like many here) of a real front fork suspension system. You have a top triple tree hinge connection on the 1986 ~ 2013 FL's. The fork tube must be a positive connection. Read LINK to post # 60. I have been doing the same thing with 2006 ~ Current Dyna's for a while now (Search). I would have asked grbrown first to do it but he has already purchased a 41mm kit.
