My point was not to quiet it down for noise but attempting to do that will choke the motor. Kind of like building a drag motor and putting stock mufflers on it per say.
I think we are on the same wave-length, in part! Installing a muffler that is too small will indeed choke a tuned motor, but suitable mufflers can be built that will give it it's head, as well as be reasonably quiet. It will probably be larger than many of us would prefer, but it can be done!

even out of the crate, those are low numbers, I am running a 120 151 h.p. 147 tq. using the Drago Dragula pipe with 3.05 baffle, it is loud but quiet at freeway cruising speed. in your place I would be looking at the new SuperTrapp 2:1:2 pipes they develop for the big inchers, or buying a good set of stepped head pipes and then the car SuperTrapps 5 in. pipes with 2.5 inlets for 2:1 pipes, either set up you can fine tune for what you need. I may do the same thing next winter and cam down and compression down to milder build and use the Drago heads pipe and put the car 5 in SuperTrapp on the pipes to quiet it down. I do enjoy this build, will have 25K by then, but it is hard on everything. LOL
All in all after dropping the coin on the 120R I'm not going to be able to raise the money for any new exhaust and a better tune until fall.
Now I have to read a little more on these plug wires, been running them for three years and haven't seen any issues. Don't think there the reason for the numbers.
The biggest reason is a poor tuner, I'm sure of it. But I'll not be paying for a new tune until at the very least I try a different head pipe.
Hate to rain on anyones parade but the std readings on the dyno sheet are not accurrate. Std gives higher than actual readings. This happened to me by a previous tuner i used. He listed my hp as 111 but when i had it redone on sae format it was barely 95 hp.

I couldn't remember which way that went, so my real world numbers are a lot less you saying?
