Default Cigarette Light

First post in the bagger section, so starting off by saying hello to all.

Been riding an 06 Super Glide for the last 6.5 years. Added a 2012 Street Glide to the barn this weekend. I am disappointed in the power port location and want to add a lighter.

Anyone done so that can show where you located it and where is the best place to pick up power from?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to TEAM BATWING. I don't know about Street Glides but my limited has a lighter already in the fairing. I have seen on the forums of people adding an extra power port to the mid frame heat deflectors (big plastic thing mounted under the seat to keep heat off your thighs) run it off the battery with an inline fuse and mount to the heat deflector. Fireman, his Street Glide dont have a tourpack, lol. Stay safe on your new sled man.

i added an extra power port/lighter socket to the upper left portion of the inner fairing... I felt the location of the original factory fairing mounted one was just too low to be convenient... As for the power source I just tapped into the factory cigarette lighter power/ground wires though there are already pigtails located behind the fairing for adding accessories...

As an example. I bought an extra and soldered to the factory wiring zip tied it to the harness in the fairing. Plug and taped my xm plug in.. I have a small input cord going into aux on front of radio then it goes behind fairing. everything is hidden. The module for the xm is In my TBags.

Dealer sells one that mounts in the I believe the right side cover. I also bought a Cigarette Ligher on about a 4 foot cord that has the opposite end as the battery tender. I plug it into the tender connector and then can either put it in my tour pack or Saddle Bag. I also have the adaptor to change the cigarette light adaptor to a USB and can charge my phone etc. with them locked away.

Not having been behind the inner fairing yet, this is great information. Thanks for the ideas. Everyone's input is appreciated.
