I found a guy that has a race tuner #32114-01 for sale . He said it was for an 06 street glide. My numbers said it should be 32107-01 a,b,c,.... I,m looking for one for my 06 Ultra that is injected. What is right???
He said it was used, and Yes I don,t know what I,m looking for. I ask a whole lot of questions till I,m satisfied that it is what I really want or need. I,m wanting to put a sert on the bike without going to the dealer. Money is not the object, it,s the principal of it. I hate having something with strings attched to the dealer Thanks for the info Dan
SERT isn't an add-on to the bike. it is a CD that has a program that you load on a laptop to program the computer on the bike. The SERT also comes with a black interface box that must be used to transfer the updated data from the SERT program on the laptop to the ECU (computer) on the bike. the interface box, upon the first use, marries itself to the bike it is hooked to and cannot be used on another bike.Once the ECU is programmed and the laptop is removed, the interface box is also removed from the bike. If he has used it on another bike, steer clear. You want a new one. understand you can buy the updated program CDs from HD, but the interface box is the real kicker.
Thanks for the info, I,ve seen 4 on ebay for about 350 new in the box. But as youall have said 24k for a bike, 3k for a trailer when I need it, New garage to keep it in....... That reminds me, WHY THEY PUT NECK TIES ON ENGINEERS, SO THEY CAN PULL THEIR HEAD OUT OF THEIR AZZZS. I.ll buy a new one from a dealer. Thanks Dan
The part no. 32114-01A is the part that is known as the "key" in the SERT kit. It is the piece that "marries" the SERT to the bike on which it is initially used. If it has been used on any bike, and apparently this one has, it won't be able to be used on your bike or anyone else's.
If you get a chance to look at a SERT kit, regardless of it's suffix, as long at it starts with 32107, it will have a sealed brown box bearing the part no. 32114-01A. That part number is not listed in the Harley on-line parts inventory because it is not available for seperate sale.
The SERT is esssentially sophisticated software, but it can only be used with a new "key." Otherwise, there is no way to download anything to the ECM of your bike.
Thanks for explaining how the whole system works. I always thought there was just one part plus cables and hardware, now I know. I would literally have bought a used piece of toilet paper, not even good to wipe your butt on. Thanks Dan
M&M Cycles recently sent an email to its customers offering the 32107-01F SERT for $355.00; haven't seen a better price from a retailer.
I bought an -01C version (cables included) from an NC dealer several weeks ago for $321 delivered after my local metro Atlanta dealer's parts manager gave me a print-out of the HD dealers who had the -01C, D, or E versions and I called those dealers looking for a deal. Took about 15 calls to get the one I bought. The versions before -01F come with the cables. And like UC, I borrowed a friend's CD from the -01F versionand loaded it on my laptop.
