Default Inner Fairing Again

Does anyone know if you have to take the radio out to take out the inner fairing?

It is a 07 Ultra. And I take the gauges come first also.

No, my suggestion would be, first, purchase a service manual if you havn't done so already. Also, a digital camara is a useful tool, sometimes a picture is worth a thousand word's, Putt

Got most of everything off. Taking my time. Some of the gauges are hard to get to though.

I guess the '07 Ultra is different from the '04 Ultra, because, according tothe '04 Touring Model SM,the 2" gauges aren't removed from the inner fairing; each issimply unplugged from their two interconnect connectors and are removed with the inner fairing.

Actually if a person had a mind too. He could take every gauge out with the inner fairing, just by unpluging them from the harness.
I guess it all depends on the "why" the inner fairing is being removed in the first place.

And no the radio dosen't "need" to be removed, but is really not a bad idea to, since it will give you more room to unplug the idiot lights under it.

When I removed mine I took pictures (like puttnutt said)so I could see how the harness/wiring was routed and I used duct tape to label each connection. Made it a snap to reinstall.

I removed the radio to make it easier and left the gauges in. The radio is such a minor part of the deal.

Good luck
