Punched on the left side of the motor. All searches states that Harley's are 4 letters with six numbers. Want to know year and displacement.

Motor is a Harley Twin Cam out of the frame. Got it as interest on a overdue payment.

Possibly an engine purchased outright rather than one that was originally installed in a bike.
Just a guess.
Have you tried calling the MOCO and asking them?

Either way its only gonna tell you what stock is. It has collapsible pushrod tubes which are not stock. So whether they just did cams, or bored it out from 96" to 103" and cams you don't know. I would have gotten more info on the motor before i got it if i were you. At least crack it open and see what sticks are inside. Depending on what grind they are they might tell you if other engine work was needed (ie comp increase) to support them.

The motor company keeps records on engine cases. Best to go to them and make sure what ya got. Of course that will only tell ya what it started out as...

Either way, unless you know the full history of the motor (which obviously you don't since you are trying to figure out its displacement) a full teardown and rebuild isn't way outta line. You can find everything out (ie comp ratio, cams, displacement) and also find any wear issues, of any, and once put back together, you know you have a solid motor that you won't have any doubts about

Nah, he is just gonna collect a bike, piece by piece. Transmission is next, then the tins, then the wheels... lol

The OP probably doesn't dare contact HD about the part number because it's probably an engine from a stolen bike.

OP, get lost...You took an engine as an interest payment and your customer couldn't tell you what it was--develop better business practices that don't involve stolen items.
