Default Indy woes regarding tire change

My old 74 year young riding buddy recently took his bike in for two new tires. He got home (45 minute ride), and the next day went on a 4 hour round trip. He's deaf as a post but he did hear something amiss. Checked out his '10 ultra and the little clamp on the front axle was just about off, hanging on by one bolt and the other bolt was totally gone. He heard the rattle I guess. He is wondering / worried if he should mention it to the mechanic who did the tires.
Bad oversight IMHO and something should be said.

Yes he should say something. The shop should be made aware of it.

It's a shop up here on Vancouver Island, B.C.
I phoned that same shop a couple of years back when I wanted a 103 kit installed in my 96. Their "cracker jack" mechanic came to the phone and told me it's a big job, "motor has to come out" he said. I wonder if it was him that installed my friends tires??

Ha Ha nope Ron. He's a nice guy and has been going through a lot of health issues and probably doesn't want to rock the boat. I think I should mention something if he doesn't for the simple fact we wouldn't want some blatant error like this to happen again.

Think of the health problems he'd be facing had the axle come away from the fork...

Absolutely you/he should inform the shop owner, or at least the manager of this. I wouldn't talk to the 'tech' who performed the tire swap. Owner or manager only, and let them sort it out from there.
