Default Black Plate Frame/Silver Screws - WTF?

Helped a brother install the HD black, curved license plate frame this evening, why the heck does HD supply silver screws, as opposed to black ones?

Anyone have an elegant solution to blacking those screws out? Found a good substitute, painting that came out ok and matched the frame, nail polish?

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Doesn't sound right that a black frame came with silver screws. First thing I would do is check with the dealer. For a quick fix, and this sounds crazy, what about an artist brush and a small jar of "testers" paint, used for models, and touch up the screw heads.

Until you find some black screws, try using a Sharpie.

With the price of silver you should cash those screws in and buy either chrome or zinc screws that are spray painted. Mine came with the chrome screws. I don't recall ever seeing black screws other than ones I've painted and then when you stick a screwdriver in them they become unblack.
