A big THANKS to our boss Terry1955 for placing this thread as a 'sticky' at the top of this page. Over time, Classic owners have shared lots of ideas on customizing our RKC's through this thread but, like so many other good ones, it often faded into the background. Now, it'll be in a spot where we can't lose it so easily.

Unfortunately, earlier this year we lost a lot of great pictures when the forum shifted to the new format. Maybe, in time we can begin to build our library of great ideas again.

Ride safe.

The solo seat is Harley's Sundowner Solo Bucket Seat - Road King Classic Basketweave

I found it not as comfortable as the Sundowner two up seat I had on the bike, but overall it's not a bad seat. It had the right look I was going for....lol

and it requires a separate hardware kit that has to be ordered separately!

Though so. Sadly, it won't fit an 08 and up. I also have the Sundowner two up and found it to be the most comfortable seat I have in 30 years of riding. Oh well, the search continues.

I had the same conversation with a friend of mine last week who wants to solo his 08 RKC and really likes the look and feel of my seat but is stumped by the cutoff @ '07 if we come with any answers I will try and let you know.

Is that a Mustang with a backrest your running?

It's the HD Signature Series that replced the Sundowner Solo. I only have a few hundred miles on it (snoiw/ice) but I slide forward everytime I hit a bump. I also do care for the look.

I bought an 08 RKC and put a plain sundowner two up seat on it. It wasn't until the 09's came out that HD made a two up sundowner with the Classic pattern on it to fit an 08. While they haven't done it yet for the solo, since they finally did with the two up, hopefully they will eventually do it for the solo.

Dean I like the rail around the back of the seat. Where did that come from?
