Default RE: High speed wobble!!

I read in one of the biker rags this month that it's acually due to the swingarm being mounted with rubber to cut down on drivetrain vibration on the FL models. There is a bracket available for over three-hundred bucks that mounts to the bottom of the transmission and then somewhere around the frame rails and swingarm. It may be snakeoil as it was an advertisement but I feel the wobble in highspeed sweepers on my FLHX. I have never felt this on another bike in 23 years of riding and it kind of freaked me out the first time it happened. I've been trying to figure it out so the article kind of made sense with all the rubber HD uses now to cut down on the vibrations.

I had my shocks air'd down and experianced the wobble you mentioned at lower speeds in sweeper under excelleration. I aird them back up and the wobble went away. Mybe your shocks need replacement as noted above.

WOW, some of you folks have some fast baggers. Most of the stock bikes will only do about 100 mph. Since I am an old fart I no longer ride that fast anyway but I have felt a little instability in high cross winds, especially around trucks at freeway speeds. If you leave the throttle alone and gently drag the rear brake most of thesse wobbles will settle down quickly.

My bike is new so they can't be worn out. I'm running 14lbs. and this happens with or without added load. What are you running?

Mine has been to 110 or more already and she's smooth as silk. Except in turns. I know the old trick of dragging the rear brake to power through the corners (although I don't usually ride that hard on this bike) and that doesn't have much impact other than slowing me down. If I stay on the throttle and brake there is no reduction in the wobble.

I don't know how fast you go or at what speed your high-speed wobble occurs, or if you’re running spokes but on my RK the rear spokes were loose, (I had just had an indie shop replace the rear tire and they "tightened" my spokes) it started about 80-85 mph and got worse from there.
