The parts catalog book is different than the service manual.

Short of the factory parts manual itself the best source for part numbers is Ronnie's Harley Davidson online parts fiche.
http://www.shopronniesharleydavidson...partfinder.htm

This valuable resource in mentioned here almost daily.
If you can't remember it just do a Google search for Harley online parts fiche.
It more than likely will be the first choice.
The attachment shows what the page with the requested part looks like.

Curious: why do you need to replace the original?

The inside of the coupler is warped. I've taken the outer fairing off many times to change out the headlight and speakers. But again, it's warped. Today, I took it to Ace Hardware adn Home Depot and the guys there agreed that it's completely warped. Ican't get the screw all the way in.

I'm gonna head to the dealership in the morning for a replacement. I hope to god that they have it in stock because Saturday, I planned on riding to Thunder Harley in Columbia for a party.

I'd try to re-tap it first.

A warped "coupler" is a new one for me--and I've been around for a while.

Have you had difficulty reinstalling the outer fairing?

I ask because I've had my outer fairing off more times than I can count and the only problem I ever encountered was dropping an inner fairing screw.

sounds like they are the studs set into the plastic that the fairing screws thread into. if so, sometimes the dealer will heat them a bit and re-insert them into the fairing. The replacement one fit better as they screw into the plastic.

I know this is an old thread but it's a new problem for me...does anyone know the torque value of these extensions, I can't imagine it's much as it's going into plastic but would like to do it right. Thanks
