I need the part number for the coupling bolt which attaches the inner fairing and outter fairing together. When you remove the outer fairing, on the right side, inside there's a a silver coupling bolt which connects the two. Today's 4th of July, I went to Ace Hardware and Home Depot, they don't sell this exact bolt. That means, I have to get it from my dealership and pay probably $30.00 Grrrrrrr
Huh? I've had my Ultra fairing apart many times and I have no idea what you mean. What kind of bike?
Sorry,
Streetglide!
In order to pull the outerfairing off, you need to remove 2 bolts on the left and right side of the inner fairing. Those bolts go through the inner fairing and into a silver coupling which holds the inner and outter fairing.
Outer fairing takes 7 1/4-20 screws. 3 on the windshield, 4 on the back. Two on the outer edges underneath the speakers, and two by the fork tubes. Stock ones are Torx, but I replaced mine with chrome hex screws from the local hardware store.
Are you talking about the brass inserts that are set into the outer fairing?
i think he's talking about the fairing lower screws....i think they have a sleeve they screw into.....can't find the part number. my yamaha has a similar set up to the ultra.
