I have had my new Harley for about 2 months now and I have about 5 thousand miles on it. Ever since new the bike coughs and sometimes stalls while leaving for work in the morning. I let the bike idle to warm up for 2 to 3 minutes and it still coughs. The dealer told me to get the stage 1 installed and it will be better. However its worse and the dealer can not fix it because it is intermittant and will not act up for them. Sometimes it stalls when it is warm, only at slower rpms usually between ist and 2nd gear. Any of you guys have the same problems and if so what was it? Thanxs Quickie
I have a new 05 Road King Classic....my bike was doing the stuttering crap too, even with warm up, etc.,,Mine is FI. My husband bought a techlusion fuel manager for my King and it hasn't stalled or sputtered once since he installed it. This might be what you're looking for.
Yes my king is fuel injected. What is a techlusion fuel manager and where can I get one and how much? Just to elaborate on what the bike is doing, mostly it stalls or coughs when I leave in the morning. Its really bad if I,m on a trip and i stop for about an hour for lunch, when i go to leave the bike is still warm but has cooled somewhat. This is usally the time it runs the worst. I also have noticed its on days that are really hot and humid. The days that are cooler it seems to run fine. All advice apprieciated because my dealer thinks that I,m crazy. Quickie

Just curious, what state are you in? Most states have a lemon law. If something is wrong with your bike that significantly effects it's operation or value you should be protected by a lemon law. In NJ, where I live, a dealer is given two opportunites to fix the vehicle. After that you can file for lemon law protection. Once filed, the dealer is given one last opportunity to fix the vehicle, or it must be marked a lemon(on the title) and your money refunded. To avoid this, most dealers will be more than wiling to offer you a different vehicle to avoid you filing a lemon law complaint. I would not spend any of my own money adding devices to my new bike to fix something that should not be broken in the first place.
JMHO....Good luck
