WOW!!!!! that's some Sirius cash for XM or Sirius radio. I have the Star tech 5 Sirius unit. I got it off ebay for 50 bux. Run an acc. cord from it to the radio and put your radio on aux and your good to go. You can even buy the cheaper ones from Wal-Mart, but the don't last that long on a Harley. Too much vibration for there docking unit. The Star Tech 5 has no dock, just the mount. All the wires plug directly into the unit.
I just got the onyX receiver for the scooter. Not waterproof but a sandwich bag covers it just fine. The big plus is I can swap it over to my truck. $300 is crazy nuts. But hey, if your into the HD label thing...
Glide 2005; I've been researching for an inexpensive satellite radio and was also looking for one that does not have the doc. In your post you described a star tech 5 that didn't have a doc, but I'm unable to find that model. Can you give me more details on that model?
Check out www.tssradio.com several good options there. The Harley mount is $38 and comes with hardware to mount directly to your left controls bolts. The 1" universal mount attaches to the bar and accommodates the magnetic antenna if you need it.

I went thru 3 receivers mounts. Seems that's the weak point on these. Would cut in and out due to vibrations (imagine that!) Found a Road tech on ebay for cheap. No removable mount but water proof, nicer buttons and display.

I too have to Zumo for my XM pleasure. No need for baggies anymore.
didnt have time to shop before a 4,000 mile trip so I bit the bullet and had the dealer put one on while I had it in for a few other items. No regrets.
