mabye we should start a poll on how many people came to the touring family from a dyna. i too came from a fxd to my new street glide. wouldn't go back for nothin. neverthought i would like a sterio on a bike so much. don't think i have turned it off since i bought it! welcome!
Hello Everyone, I say this with still some guilt but I have move from the Dyna forum to the Touring forum. Yahoo.
I just sold my superglide picked up an 03 Anniversary Edition Road King Classic in gunmetal Pearl,I am soo stoked and can't wait for the show to clear out so I can give it my first ride.
Anyway just wanted to say hello.
Welcome! Road King is a fine machine, your going to love it. (and you ain't even fifty yet! LOL)
Welcome Harpoon... is that my bike :-) I loved my 2003 RKC, gun metal blue! Wife loved it too... a suggestion, it looks like you have the stock seat... ride for a while, but plan on changing to the Sundowner seat.. it makes all the difference, especially for the wife since it has a wider pillion. My wife road the 1300 mile roundtripto Sturgis and had no issues at all. Also, I changed to the RK pull back handle bars.. my arms never tired or cramped after that.
I traded in my RKC for an 07 Ultra.. got it Jan 23 and have ridden only 5 miles since... we had 18 inches of snow this past weekend and expecting another 15-20 inches this weekend... sure cuts down on the riding season.
[sm=hiya.gif]Hi Harpoon , welcome to the forum and good luck with your new m/bike.
I too traded from a Dyna,You'll love it,I do mine .[sm=smiley20.gif]
Hey patriotmc, it is funny that you mentioned the seat. I bought the sundowner just this past weekend.. I haven't even ridden this bike yet but with all of the information from this forum I just went out and go it.
Thanks for the welcome....
Harpoon, I to went from a Dyna (Low Rider) to a touring bike an Electra Glide and have never looked back. I can ride a long time before I want to stop for a break and much more comfortable for my wife. Happy wife = more riding time
