I'm glad you're O.K. The bike can be fixed but, make sure you check the frame where the crash bar is mounted for any damage. It's amazing what a hit will do to a frame. Don't sign off with his insurance untill you are sure everything is 100%
Yes what scout said. and don't be upset if they want to replace the frame, it does not mean its a total or a salvage bike like I have heard others say here on the forum. Harley will make you a new frame and it will have your orginal numbers. Had to have mine replaced at 4 months old and 4000 miles on it. I had a deer step out in front of me. When the dealer was done the bike was perfect.

Ditto, had my frame replaced at 4500 mi., 9K in damage plus a shattered pelvis and almost a month in the hospital. Both me and the bike are now like new.
I'm happy your weren't hurt.
Glad you are OK. The bike can be fixed. Get back on as soon as you can. I always found it makes the sick feeling go away faster, if you start riding again right away. Good luck getting your bike fixed.
I T-boned a drunk driver at 50 MPH many years ago so I can feel your pain. Remember that there are two kinds of bikers. Those that will have an accident and those that have. Welcome to the club. I am glad you were not hurt. Do not settle with the Ins Comp unless you are 100% satisfied. I work in the Insurance Industry and they hate MC accidents. Use that to your advantage. Document everything, conversations, quotes, etc. Work with them directly before getting any legal help. Get the legal help ONLY if you can not get satisfaction. Remember the lawyers take up to 50% of anything that is rececovered including repairs on your bike. This is a goot time to look at new paint jobs, upgrades, add-ons and even a vacation on a cruise. Good luck.
Thanks everyone for all the encouraging replies. It does make a soul feel better. The final estimate was 3835.81 and in the grand scheme of things I guess thatâs not too bad. The lower fairing and front fender will require replacing but are not too bad. It will take 6 to 8 weeks to get the painted tin from HD, but they are getting everything else done by next week so at least I can make the Del Rio Texas rally.
