These bikes love to cruise at 90 I quite often find myself going that fast early in the AM.However the gas milage really sucks at that speed 4.00 plus a gal that makes just enough of a difference to slow me down.

He calls my bike - the tractor. I tell him that his bike is like riding a big girl. Even though she can rock your socks off. You're still embarrassed to show her off to your friends.(Quote)

I had one of those once...the girl, not the bike! LOL

I hate how negative people are on this board. Who cares if he's gonna get a ticket our what, he just asked about handling characteristics at high speed. Who knows, he may have no intention of ever hitting 90, but if a bike handles well at 90+ then it prolly handles 80-85 real well. Speed limits also vary by location. In NH you wont find a speed limit over 65, and those are strictly on the 2 interstates in that state. Down here in FL the speed limit on I4 is 70 and the flow of traffic is going well over 80. If I'm in my truck i don't care and set cruise for 75. on my sporty I'm right up there, but That's because i hate having people come up from behind me when I'm on my bike. Would rather look ahead at what i need to worry about instead of having to worry about what is behind me so much (it also doesn't help i only have one, pretty much non-functioning mirror on that bike).

As far as the OP is concerned, they are ask the same frame, they each have slightly different front end aerodynamics which effects there handling, but slightly. I would go with the one that you like best. Go test ride them all and then make a decision. Good luck

If you want to ride 90 all day, get a BMW K1600, not a Harley.

If you want highway touring for one, I don't think the Sharknose can be beat by anything else Harley offers. I just got back from 1180 miles in two days of riding and it just reinforced how glad I am to have that fixed fairing. If the road is fairly flat and smooth you can set the cruise at 75mph+ (I don't cruise at 90+, can't help you with that), rest your hands on your knees, and that front end will stay planted for miles with no steering input. Lean a tiny fraction here and there to correct lane placement or follow subtle curves in the road and the bike will follow. Obviously that is only for rural roads with little/no traffic, but the point is that the stability is incredible. Being able to drop both hands for a few minutes at a time works wonders for resting your shoulders and upper back too on the really long rides.

I never felt as stable on my GW as I did my last three HDs. Goldwing always got thrown around by the wind. It did haul butt ... but

Your saying that my post was negative? It was sarcasm, the answer that you chimed in and gave was already answered in post#2 in more detail than you posted. You mention riding your sporty in your post, you have no touring bike listed in your signature, a 1200 custom with your avatar, cant see your garage. Have you even ridden a touring bike? How are you gonna chime in with an answer and not base it from your experience riding a touring bike? It sounds like you are taking an educated guess or its your opinion and you are riding around on a bike with only 1 mirror that you can use? That dont sound to safe to me, they make these kewl things called mirror extenders. Your post is the first negative one I have seen this whole thread. If you do actually own a touring bike, you should let everyone else know so you dont catch flack for stirring up the touring section on your 39th post.
