Does this look normal

i pulled the Tranny cover off to replace my vent hose that had ripped off after dry rotting replaced the gasket as well and took a peak into the top of the tranny. noticed what looked like shaving in there so i got my magnet out and was going to clean them out but it actually ended up being just a really rough finish on the casing. just thougt it was odd to be so rough wondering if anybody else's has looked like this

I don't know how it looks on my SG but I had to replace that vent hose on my dyna due to dirt dobbers building nest in the hose mine looked rough like that to.
