Default security light stays on

I ride a 04 roadking classic and used my security system for the first time is a while last week. Ever since then, when I ride the security light (little red key) comes on after I start the bike and stays on while I'm riding. I've tried turning it off and on a number of times. Anybody have a idea what's going on with it?

Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge

john

Damn John, you have been here since Oct 09 and you only have 5 posts? You must of got REALLY lost on the first few rides, lmao... Check and see if your bike has codes stored.
I am attaching a link that explains how to do this and it explains the codes. I am sure I am prolly wrong but it dont hurt for you to have this info.

I found this on the forums also. It says the red key staying on is related to the turn signals and will stay on when there is a short in the wiring.

Here is another thread saying its related to a short also, check your turnsignal wiring man. Hope this helps you.

I would invest in a service/electrical manual for that beast to, best 120 bucks you will EVER spend on your ride. Stay safe man.

The security key is controlled by a module call the TSSM turn signal security module.

If you have LED lights that would give it some trouble in which case a load equalizer would be the fix. Badlands makes the best one.

I had the same thing happen and replaced the TSSM with a TSM. The dealer will need to marry the ECM to the new TSM.

I haven't had any problems running it, what can happen if I just get used to the light being on?
