I recently bought a liberty hitch from the usa trailer store for my 2007 ultra classic, I noticed where the hitch is supposed to mount to the sides of the rear fender it is a bit too wide and mounting it with the saddlebag guards inside the side mounts would still leave a little play possibly causing the trim to pull away from the fender. Has anyone else out there bought and installed this same hitch? If so, what if any modifications did you make? Such as adding a washer between the mounting bracket and the fender so the trim would not pull away from the fender. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
