If the scratches didn't bug me I'd pocket the money. I think you need to base your decision on your own sensibilities in the matter.

Unless I bought the bike used and the scratch was already there, I would have to fix it.

The guys that would tell you to "just leave it" don't hang out on no internet forum. They're out riding.

Just what I was thinking. My bike stays dirty and is already scratched up on the tank, bags and fender from chickens jumping on it. It's just a bike...

If you like to show the bike off more than enjoy the ride, I would fix it, sell the old bag and use that little bit of money to buy some cleaning accessories.

Those insurance checks are for hookers and blow. Everyone knows that.... I'd FIX IT, but, unfortunately, I'm allergic to hookers and blow.

Only 3 years old...fix it.

My 14 year old RK has some "petina" so it doesn't need to be perfect. Let's me enjoy the ride a bit more if I'm not obsessing over every little thing.

But then again, my bike paint is currently 100% covered by Plasti-Dip. Kind of like a big HD bike condom.

if the scratch was my fault I may leave it as a reminder to not be stupid. If it was someone else's fault it would just make me mad to keep looking at it. I would fix it.

My bike is eleven years old. Let's just say, the front fender pictured below is not original. Fix it!
