1. No one who has ever test-ridden an SG would think the OEM screen, (I don't think HD refers to it as a windshield), would think it was comfortable while riding.

2. No one who knows HD's or civilians is going to care about what your bike looks like if you don't do something silly with a replacement.

3. Decide if you want to look through the windshield or over it; personally, I prefer to look over it slightly, especially in rain.

Good luck.

I know I'm in the minority but while I like style, function comes first. My touring bike is about comfort. Suspension, seat, bars and screen need to work and for me my 14" Clarke flattop barn-door works! The Klock thing it had on it was totally useless.

AAACK, I had one of those on my bike for about 2 hours, then yanked it off and put it in storage. It was GREAT at blocking wind, but was just cellulite-butt ugly... no offense.

Totally agree. I only put mine on for the winter months, along with soft lowers. I call it "ugly winter mode".

That being said, I have no doubt that the bulk of my upper (head) buffeting was caused from the wind over the windshield. In the summer, I actually welcome the wind from below because it helps keep me cool.

My thoughts exactly. I've used the stock shield always. Can't beat the looks, and ANY shield + a fairing is way more protection than I've had my entire life. I actually enjoyed my riding time without a fairing or windshield.

I'm 6'2, and run a 10" tinted shield, I can see barely over top, perfect for me. I have a klockwerks that put too much wind on sides of my face, couldn't hear the radio. The stock shield is just way too short for a tall guy like myself. For one thing I looked like a giraffe. 10" gives me a nice quiet ride so I can hear the radio and not have my helmet act as a parachute.

As several others have posted, Fork Deflectors is what really cut the wind on my Street Glide (previously had them on a Road King as well).

I am only running a 6.5" Clearview Recurve Windshield and I am 5'11" tall.....but all the wind and noise you are not liking was killed when I put the Fork Deflectors on the bike.....not changing the windshield.

Lots of folks don't like the looks, I think they look great personally!

This is a 7 1/2" shield from Freedom Shields

While I use it for long trips I much prefer the look of the stock windshield and really don't mind having the wind in my face.

I am 6 ft and ride a 2011 SG. Installed a 7in tinted Kury and have very little wind. Had the same problem with sunglasses blowing all over with the OEM.
I like the Kury and the fact it is tinted and still fits my 3 bag windshield setup.

I'm not sure what kinda speeds you guys are going at but at about 90kmh I start getting this annoying buffeting around my upper face smack where my glasses are and it messes up my vision because I wear prescription glasses.I'm actually quite suprised it does that.I've been riding a Fatboy Lo prior to this with no visor or shield and I ride fairly fast most of the time.Yes,that's a lot of wind and it's something I expected but I surely expected that little shield to do a little bit more than this.Oh well..as ugly as it may seem,I probably will have to change to a more practical shield soon...ain't exactly the best feeling doing 100mph with your glasses jumping all over your face.
