No body that would happen to call during my commute is worth the distraction to me and the other vehicles around me. Riding a motorcycle takes full concentration (my 2 cents). When you're talking on a phone, your mind is not on the road.[:-]

It sounds to me like a lot of you ride in traffic conditions and I understand your concern. When I ride for pleasure I rarley meet, let alone ride beside, any other vehicles. I guess I just don't travel the beaten path. I have one of those jobs that I'm on the job 6am to 6pm Mon-Fri and on call 24/7. No, I'm not a doctor I'm a coal miner but if I didn't work the hours I do I wouldn't have my scoot so I would like to be able to stay available while on my bike even if it's just to glance down at the screen to see if I need to stop and call back. My bosses just don't go for the "you will have to wait till I need fuel to get back with you" answer.

I really have to be honest here. I too am on call 24 hours a day. Its what I do and When mty phone rings it usually means payday.

I see absolutely no difference between a CB and a phone while on my scoot.

It reminds me of the list that talks about all the things people did years ago and if you listened to by todays standard we would ALL be dead.

In city traffic it may be not so safe but on the open road why not? It is no different then messing with the radio, talking on the CB, or fondling the rider behind you.

Don't worry. Most people are perfectly capable of driving/riding and talking at the same time.

I agree with most, pull over and talk. It is distracting enough just using the stereo.

I ride allday, everyday (almost). I ride a talk on the phone all the time. I use the Cardo ScalaRider. It works great and has an auto answer feature to it. Heres a link:
