Has anyone come up with a solution to using the cellphone will cruising. Of. course, it would be nice to not have to use it but my profession dictates staying in touch at times. I was hoping I could adapt the 06 stereo to my 05 FLHTCUI but have been told the harnesses are different. Parrot makes a bluetooth device I put in my vehicles that answers through the car radio and it has a screen to see your phonebook but this is neither waterproof and the mike would never work over the engine. I just bought the Motorola HS 830 which attaches to the helmet. I just seems to have low volume and if the stereo is on you can't hear it ring. Guess I bought the glide a few months to early. Oh life was so simple on my 79 FatBob............
The system looks great but I want to interface with the stock Ultra sound system. All the interfaces I see say they are for a Harley 5-pin but I count 7 pins on my headset connectors.
Boy, I gotta agree! There are enough distractions out there without adding a cell phone to the mix. I carry a cell in the scoot boot. When I stop, I check for calls. I too have to be accessible, but not to the degree of using a cell phone while riding and putting myself at risk. Heck, just messing with the radio controls can take my attention away from what I'm doing for a split second. I do love the convenience of the 14" flat screen TV on the faring to watch movies though<GRIN>

Don't use a cellphone on a scoot...and if you do, let me know which highway you are one so I can take an alternate route!

But seriously, I'm in the same situation. Always on call. A wired headset will work if the phone volume is loud enough. You just have to turn down the radio.
What is the difference between having a cell on a bike and a cb??? Seems to be pretty much the same to me. I was going to suggest http://www.cellset.com/Motorcycleitems.html but it was all ready posted.
I agree with all of you, we do need to be careful when operating other things and driving. Thats what I like about the 06 Ultra is that you can see who is calling on the radio screen and deal with it later. There are some calls I just need to take and then pull over and handle the matter. I am in a commander in a tactical law enforcement unit and sometimes just simply respond with a yes or no, but missing the call could cause more headaches than I am releasing by riding.
