I'm a bigger boy... 6' and a biscuit shy of 330lbs... And I love the fit of the Street Glide. RK is great but IMO the SG has more to offer. RK has classic styling and is a great bike, but I don't doubt for a minute that the SG was the right choice for me.
It's a personal choice, but I like my RK. I ride without a windshield 10-20% of the time. Can't do that with a SG..... And if you want a SG look, get a detachabe fairing..... Can't buy a SG and make the fairing quick detach - that's how I look at it......
Good news is - you are picking between two awesome models - it's a win / win!!
If you do get the SG, be prepared to buy a new wind screen. May I suggest LRS. I'm 5/10 and the 8" put the wind over my head while looking over it. Also, the wings that attach under the fairing. You can get fixed or adjustable, depending on want you want and/or want to spend. Those 2 things fixed the buffeting for me up to about 90 mph. I never rode an RK so I can't give any opinions on that but it is the same bike with out the fairing and tunes.
If I was thinking batwing bikes for the same price as the SG I would get an E-glide Classic while you still can. This will be much more comfortable for your wife right out of the box. The SG is nice, but I don't like the concept of getting less bike for the same money.

I absolutely love my 2012 Street Glide. I have absolutely none of the problems raised by others on this forum. I've made very few mods, wind splitter windshield, fairing air deflectors, mid-frame heat shields and MCC modified seat.
That said, if you're looking for a two-up ride I really think there are better choices. Give something in the Ultra Classic line a good test ride. Probably a better fit overall.
I've owned both and although I loved loved loved my King, the SG is the winner hands down.
traded my RKC on my X and have been very happy, i get plenty of wind on the X and I get plenty of protection in the rain. I can also turn off the radio. Ride 2 up on the X for 500 miles and it suits us fine. 500 miles on an ultra would be more comfortable but my next bike will be a CVO.
