I bought a yellow 883 at a Honda shop. The original owner had apparently bought it new for his wife. Proof Sportsters are 'girls bikes'? Anyway, after putting a lot of 'bling' on it, they had traded it in, probably for a Rebel because she was just learning to ride. It only had 80 miles.
I bought it on a cloudy day, and the next day I was pleasantly surprised to see there were different colored specks in the paint. If that is the chrome yellow people are posting about, I would say go for it. It was beautiful paint.
i never thought i would end up with a yellow bike, but when i saw mine in the sun it hooked me pretty hard. just got the bike a few weeks ago, and the yellow really pops in the sun. i just completed a four week bike trip and got mine on the way home, due in large part to seeing only one just like mine in the four weeks.
Dont worry Geno, now that you own one the damn things will start popping up all over, I felt the same way bout mine till I started seeing em every where, lol. Thats ok though, this one is mine, hehehe.
I was looking for white, but when I saw the yellow in the sun I could not resist. In my travels this year I have only seen 1 other Yellow SG. Not like the 5 black SG's I saw this morning coming to work.
Here is my work in progress.
